The Bitheater: A Work-in-Progress
New project, its called the Bitheater! It's a way to turn an old Antminer S9 into a space heater that also earns Bitcoin.
The Hardware
First up: a custom case for the Antminer S9. I found a cool design by AdamHelbing on Thingiverse and had them printed in black PETG. It's gonna have a handle for easy moving. To keep things quiet and efficient, it will be using Noctua fans. And a Vonet Wi-Fi bridge which means it can run anywhere in the house without an ethernet cabel. It works on any 120-volt outlet in the house.
The Brains of the Operation
Brains OS is gonna be key. It lets you control the wattage and heat output.
Safety First
Safety's a big deal. The Bitheater will have overheat protection and auto shutoff.
Why This Matters
This is about more than just a heater. It's about giving old tech a new life. Plus, you earn Bitcoin while heating your place! It won't be a ton, but it's better then using a regular heater that doesn't earn bitcoin.
